Physical First Half At XU Soccer Complex
It was a typical physical first half between Xavier and UC. Both teams managed just four shots each. But the Bearcats took advantage of their best chance in the 12th minute. UC led 1-0 at the break.

Despite some bad weather that delayed warmups, the introductions are finally here. The stands are packed across the field from the teams. The Xavier student "X-Treme" fans are out in full force. We are just minutes from kick-off.

- Nine home games, at least six away games
- XU could still host the WNIT second round game (if necessary) but would most likely play the semifinal and final (if necessary) on the road

Season Ticket Drawing Winner
Congratulations to Doug and Amy Nye! The Nyes are the winners of TWO FREE Season Tickets for the 2008-09 men’s basketball season. They, along with over 500 other season ticket holders, renewed their season tickets online prior to the July 25 deadline by logging in to their My Musketeers Account at GoXAVIER.com. The Nye’s have been season ticket holders since 1997.
Sean Miller on ESPN on Sunday
Men's basketball coach Sean Miller will be a live guest on ESPN's "Outside the Lines" with Bob Ley on Sunday morning, August 31. The subject will be the increasing competition in recruiting. The show airs live from 9:30-10 a.m. on Sunday on ESPN and ESPN HD.

Men's Schedule ... Women's Preview
We just released the 2008-09 men's basketball and you can check that out here.
We are just waiting on a few contracts to be signed before we finalize the women's basketball schedule. We can give you a small preview of this brutal slate though. XU could play as many as 11 opponents from power conferences, as many as 10 of last year's top-100 RPI teams and as many as seven of last year's NCAA Tournament teams. One of the highlights of the season includes a road game against a team that has been to five-straight Final Fours (that team begins with Louisiana and ends with State) and a home game against a team that wears green and white and calls Michigan home. Any other guesses?

Men's Soccer Exhibition Tonight
The Xavier men's soccer team will square-off against Oakland tonight at 7 p.m. at the XU Soccer Complex. This will be the final tune-up before the regular season opener against Cincinnati next Friday. We wanted to let everyone know that the first 250 fans to arrive at the XU vs. UC game on the 29th will receive a free t-shirt.

Website Redesign Complete ... Almost
The newly designed GOXAVIER.com is up and running. If any of you look closely enough, I'm sure you will find some things in places where they are not supposed to be as we try to tie up the loose ends. Bear with us though as we try to give GOXAVIER.com a new look.
